TNX chassis is very tough, as its well engineered and TNX weighs 2 pounds less then the XTM (higher weight = higher impact forces) have never heared anyone breaking it, also no real universal problems like Savage.Īlso it depends on personal priorities, I personally don't see much sense for a MT going more then 40mph which is already scary fast and can't or shouldn't be reached everywhere.ĭude i dont hate tamiya, i have tamiya too(tlt). Also what part availability concerns, Tamiya is the biggest RC company in the world and exists more then 50 years, XTM isn't even in the TOP10 and much much newer to have a similar service network.
Parts availibitly depends on location, my LHSes (Germany) carry close to nill XTM stuff, WCC is located in uK so TT01user you can't judge from living in Canada, west coast customizer needs to check on his own what his LHSes carry.
TT01owner I wouldn't say you are biased towards XTM but against any Tamiya product from many previous posts of you, maybe you are lost in the wrong forum? Im not biased towards xtm but i admire there customer servise the most, they have there own forum, which they talk you you and try to help you, or replace parts for you.Īnother good "big" monster truck selection would be: Mammoth 230avrg 11.75 alum thrd 2.6HP 52mph also its big, bigger than a savage, thats what west coast customiser lookin for.īest of all theres more parts avaliblity for xtm, the only tamiya products my hobby store has is spray paint.

plus the mammoths has alum threaded shocks and alum shock towers. and the mammoth is more durable because it has a monique chassis, tnx and tc are semi monique, which has a durability disadvatage. i would say the fastest with in its class is the xtm mammoth,52mph stock tested by rc car action magazine. both of them arent very tough, the universals bind, and break alot. I would also not reccomend the tnx or terra crusher, the tnx's top speed is average, and the terra crusher is below average due to its weight. The Terra Crusher isn't too bad apart from the FRAT gearbox which can be a PITA if it doesn't run right!! The TNX is an awesome truck it's the fastest in it's class, is very tough and being Tamiya spares are fairly easy to get hold of!!
